Dura Temp
logo prior to 2003
1983 - Dura Temp is Founded - Dura Temp Corporation was
founded by former Owens-Illinois Executives, Daniel R. Stewart and
Burton W. Spear, who helped develop a fiberglass and carbon-filled
silicone composite. The two engineers purchased the physical and
intellectual assets from Owens-Illinois and developed a new independent
business for glass-handling applications. Owens-Illinois served as
Dura Temp's first customer.
1989 - Shares Sold - Burton W. Spear sold his 49% share of the
company to Daniel R. Stewart, who became the 100% owner.
1994 - Company Purchased - Dura Temp was purchased by Brian T.
Summerson, who became President and CEO.
1995 - Machining Added - In-house machining was added to
facilitate manufacturing.
2003 - 20th Anniversary - The company celebrated it's 20th
anniversary with a corporate image makeover, including a new logo (see
website header), upgraded website and introduction of new promotional
materials for sales and marketing.
2004 - Corporate Headquarters Moved -
The Corporate Headquarters moved from 1750 Eber Road in Holland, Ohio to 949 S.
McCord Road, Holland, Ohio.
2005 - New
Executive Team Appointed - Dave Rollins became
the President and a Shareholder of Dura Temp Corporation (January 2005.)
Brian T. Summerson continued to serve as CEO. Sherry Robey was
hired on to the Executive Team as the CFO/Controller.
2007 -
Company Purchased - Dura
Temp Corporation is purchased by its President, Dave Rollins, and its
Chief Financial Officer, Sherry Robey.
